Brats

Here are some pictures of Lelani and me eating brats at Bratfest. One day, we want to have a eating contest (we're considering soft-shell tacos...is that a good contest food?). Lelani will probably beat me. We peer pressured each other into eating 5 brats a piece the day of Bratfest. I freaked myself out by thinking that I was going to make myself puke. I was definitely ready to be done after those 5 brats, but Lelani said she could keep going. Her goal is to train to be a real competitive eater. I have faith that she can do it. Dude, check out the website for the International Federation of Competitive Eating.
There's a brat eating contest in Sheboygan on August 6th! Lelani, let's get in on that! Whoa, the first place winner gets $4000... I'm supposed to graduate with my Master's degree on August 6th, but since I'll have to pay a bunch of money to buy a cap/gown/hood, I don't think I'm going to walk for graduation. I think I need to go to Sheboygan instead! Hey Lelani, isn't Sheboygan one of those places with lots of wealthy, eligible men? Maybe we could pick one up for you at the Brat-eating contest! ;) Hee-hee.

Jeopardy!

One day, I think I want to be a Jeopardy! contestant. I think I need to put myself through some training before I do that, though. I tried to go and play their online game, but I couldn't the thing to work on my computer. I rock at the Playstation 2 Jeopardy! game, though. I can't wait to go to Jake's so I can play against Jake and beat him for, like, the 50th time...

Plasma

I found out that I can't go in to donate plasma more than 2 times in a seven day period. I already donated on Wednesday and Saturday. Poopy. I was hoping to make some extra money before I leave to see Jake.

I feel like such a bum. I hope I can survive without a summer job.

Leaving for D.C.

I'm leaving to see Jake again on Thursday. I'm looking forward to going out there again. I think we're going to go into D.C. to check out the parade and fireworks on the 4th. I'm not sure what else we're going to do. I sort of want to look into renting a canoe from the boat center in Georgetown. Jake, can we do that? Anyway, I can't wait to get out of Eau Claire. It's so boring to live alone...

This is me on a boat in Virginia Beach. We went dolphin-watching that day.

Go to Postsecret

This website is awesome. I want to make a postcard to send to it!

My Summer Goal

So, my goal for this summer is to learn to kareoke the song "Baby got back". Lelani and I tried to do it the day before Maria's wedding, but we couldn't keep up with it. The man running the kareoke tried to talk us down, too...he said, "Are you sure you can do this? You gotta be on that mike for this song!"

You can do side bends or sit-ups, but please don't lose that butt..."

We've got to find an awesome dive bar to go sing in once we have the song down-pat. Any suggestions?

Lelani and I are so good at looking aloof in our bridesmaid gowns. Damn, we should be models!

Ghost World

Well, I took my comprehensive exam yesterday. I'll find out in a week if I've passed. If I didn't pass, then I think that I'm totally just going to drop out and disappear so I don't have to face my professors or anyone in the program.

I'm trying to figure out what to do with my time now. Maybe I should hang out and watch movies. I watched Ghost World again a couple of days ago. Lelani bought it for me (as a birthday gift- three months late!). That movie is awesome. It sort of reminds me of me and Lelani, you know, just because we graduated in the same high school class and we were/are social outsiders like Enid and Rebecca are. Anyway, you know how Enid just gets onto a bus and disappears at the end of the movie? That's what I'm going to do if I didn't pass comps.

Does anyone out there know if it's illegal to stand in your own front window naked? Is it indecent exposure if you're naked on your own property?

Okay, I think I may look into renting a movie.

Here's Jake putting his feet in the fountain.

This is me in Washington D.C. I believe this was on June 12th, but I could be wrong. This is the first time I went to see Jake after he moved out there. It was really hot and humid, so we went and put our feet in the fountain in the middle of the Smithsonian's Hirshhorn Sculpture Garden.
