7 more months of school to go...

The countdown begins...
This junk had better be done with soon...
I think school is turning me into a difficult-to-get-along-with person. I'm such a whiner.
I realized today that I have more than 2x the practicum experience of most of the school psych students in the DC area. I went online and looked at some of the programs around there...like George Mason and College Park and whatnot... I read that their second-year students only do, like 200 hours over the course of the year. I have to log 233 hours each semester. That's not even counting the 60 clinical practicum hours that I log. I hope that means that I'll have a little bit of an edge when I'm applying to internships. But right now all this work is driving me nuts. I think Jake, my family, and my friends must all be sick of me because I'm always complaining and worrying about junk.

My scariness level...

You Are Not Scary

Everyone loves you. Isn't that sweet?

Well, at least I know that I won't make any kids cry if they show up at my door for trick-or-treating tomorrow...I think that the picture that goes with this one is hilarious. I like all of the random animal things and blue-haired girls holding hands.

Homecoming

Jake came back for Homecoming this weekend. The time flew by really fast...and I won't get to see him again for another whole month...
Here is a picture of us on the couch at Triangle. We watched the game on the tv there. I'm glad that we won...it would've sucked if Jake came home and we lost.
Here's Jake next to the foosball table in Triangle's basement. I need to practice foosball so that I can beat Jake sometime...I lost three games to him yesterday.
I'm depressed that I have to go back to school tomorrow. I have to take a Stats test and I have to deal with my prof. who doesn't realize how unrealistic her expectations are tomorrow... just about every other day I think about quitting because of the high stress levels that she brings to the program. I come home and cry just to relieve the stress of having to work with her...

Front Page Baby!!

My grandma sent me a copy of the picture of Lelani and me in the paper. So, for your enjoyment...here it is. It took me forever to figure out how to work my old scanner with my new computer...so everybody better be happy with this!

Apple Picking

So, Sarah and I went apple picking this afternoon. I don't have any pictures of us actually pulling the apples off the trees, but here's Sarah in a tire swing with her bag of apples in her lap. Check out my creepy shadow next to her.
Here's a picture of me next to a pumpkin with holes to throw beanbags through. Check out my talent! Instead of throwing the beanbag right through the hole worth five points, I got the beanbag to rest right on the edge of the hole. Nice!
As for the actual apple picking, we took a ride on a horse-drawn wagon up to where the apples were. There were lots of kids on the wagon we rode in. On the ride back, one guy in the wagon with us freaked out the horses by throwing an apple core into a bunch of pine trees. But never mind the stinky horses..apple picking is awesome...we paid 55 cents for each pound of apples we bought in the orchard. That's darn cheap!!

I'm tired.

Yeah, I thought that I'd do a bunch of work this weekend and catch up on stuff, but that's not really happening. I need to get moving on my thesis or I'll never get it done by the beginning of summer. I presented what I have for it so far in my research analysis class this week, and now, because of the comments from my classmates, I have a gabillion ideas for ways to change it. Maybe if I write out a timeline, then I'll be more able to actually accomplish it...okay, I'm hoping to get together the rest of my thesis committee by the end of the month. Maybe I can make my deadline for revising my survey and sending in all my stuff for IRB approval the first week in November. Then, hopefully I'll get my data collected sometime in November or December, but definitely before winter break starts...boy, I don't know if all that will happen by the end of the semester, what with all the other crap I have going on. I definitely have to get the IRB thing done though, or else I won't pass by research class.
Tomorrow Sarah is coming to hang out with me. Maybe we'll go to an apple orchard. Yay!
Next weekend, Jake is coming to Madison to watch the homecoming game. I'm excited, but just writing that reminds me that I need to get my butt in gear and start working ahead on stuff now because I'm not going to get anything done for school next weekend...
I had to grade videotapes for my TA job this weekend. I have to say that Shelly and I are doing an awesome job as TAs...we're working our butts off. The first-years turned in their tapes on Wednesday and we're going to have them graded by Monday...dude, last year it was weeks before I got feedback on my videotapes...
I'm not really feeling this homework junk right now...maybe I should just relax and take some time off tonight... I already did my reading for two classes, graded a videotape, did a taped counseling session with a classmate, and printed off a report for practicum today. That's something, right? Screw it...I think I might go walk to Family Video and rent a movie or something...I'm sick of being a slave to school. It's flippin' Saturday...anyone who's not a grad student has a life on Saturdays...I can't wait till this school junk is over with...
